While working at USC Software Systems as their 4-GL product manager, he developed the TOADS/Web Application Server, the first Internet product in the MultiValue marketplace. Mel frequently speaks at various technical seminars and writes a regular Internet Commerce column (Webonomics 101) for International Spectrum magazine.
