| Richmond's inaugural running of the Sun Trust Indy Challenge was a breakthrough weekend for Sarah Fisher, the only woman competing full-time in a major auto racing series. On the track (left), her past experience racing USAC Midget cars propelled her to her first Indy Racing League front-row starting spot. Off the track, she won over the fans with a charm that earned her the IRL's "Most Popular Driver" award for the 2001 season. |
